Irie Action Sound System meets King Shiloh alongside Ras Daniel Ray

Την Παρασκευή 21 Δεκεμβρίου, οι Irie Action, συνεχίζοντας την παράδοση των καταιγιστικών dances που προσφέρουν στο αθηναϊκό κοινό, υποδέχονται τον Bredda Neil, τον ιδρυτή ενός από τα πιο εμβληματικά και πολυταξιδεμένα sound system. Ο λόγος είναι για το King Shiloh Soundsystem από την Ολλανδία. Τις επιλογές του Bredda Neil θα συνοδέψει ο Ras Daniel Ray στο μικρόφωνο, ξεσηκώνοντας όποιον παρεβρεθεί στο Ρομάντσο για μια αξέχαστη βραδιά γεμάτη δυνατή μουσική και πολύ μπάσο.

Το King Shiloh Sound System με βάση το Άμστερνταμ της Ολλανδίας, είναι ένα διεθνές ανεξάρτητο reggae sound system το οποίο ιδρύθηκε το 1991 με αντλώντας έμπνευση από τις αρχές του Ρασταφαριανισμού. Το ηχοσύστημα των King Shiloh έχει την τρομερή ισχύ των 40.000W.

Οι King Shiloh, όπως και η πλειοψηφία των sound system, αποτελούνται από διάφορα μέλη τα οποία έχουν συγκεκριμένο ρόλο. Ο Bredda Neil είναι ο χειριστής του ηχοσυστήματος και βασικός selector της μουσικής, ο Ras Lion είναι ο βασικός MC και ο Majestic B είναι το τρίτο βασικό μέλος των King Shiloh. Στην ευρύτερη οικογένεια των King Shiloh ανήκουν επίσης οι Big Bless σαν MCs και o Lidj Shilh με ρόλο τεχνικού.

Είναι το πιο πολυταξιδεμένο sound system στην Ευρώπη, αφού τα τελευταία 20 χρόνια έχει στηθεί σχεδόν σε κάθε χώρα της Ευρώπης. Επίσης είναι πηγή έμπνευσης για πολλά sound system που δημιουργήθηκαν τα τελευταία χρόνια. Ήταν το πρώτο sound system εκτός Αγγλίας που έπαιξαν με τον δικό τους ήχο στο νησί, κάτι που τους εδραίωσε σαν resident sound system στο πολύ γνωστό πλέον University of Dub στο Λονδίνο. Όταν δεν μπορούν να μεταφέρουν όλο το ηχοσύστημα σε άλλη χώρα, χαρίζουν ξεχωριστές βραδιές με dj sets.

Εκτός του sound system, οι King Shiloh διατηρούν και μια δισκογραφική, την λεγόμενη King Shiloh Majestic Music, η οποία δραστηριοποιείται από το 1997. Έκτοτε μετράει 29 κυκλοφορίες σε CD και βινύλιο με συνεργασίες με μερικά από τα μεγαλύτερα ονόματα στην σκηνή, όπως Earl Sixteen, King Kong, Danny Red και πολλούς άλλους.

Οι King Shiloh κατά καιρούς συνεργάζονται με διαφορετικούς MCs με τους οποίους περιοδεύουν. Την Παρασκευή λοιπόν ο Bredda Neil θα έχει για MC τον τζαμαϊκανής καταγωγής Ras Daniel Ray.

Ως έφηβος, o Ray άρχισε να παίζει με το Echo Tone και το Night Rider Sound. Σύντομα κέρδισε την αναγνώριση στην Τζαμάικα με το Killamanjaro Sound. Έχει μοιραστεί τη σκηνή με τους Shabba Ranks, Dennis Brown, John Holt, Gregory Isaacs, Julian Marley, Sizzla, Garnett Silk, Charlie Chaplin, Brigadier Jerry and Sister Carol. Έκτοτε έχει γυρίσει τον κόσμο περιοδεύοντας και τραγουδώντας σε μεγάλα venue και φεστιβάλ.

Όσοι/ες παρευρεθούν στο Ρομάντσο είναι σίγουρο πως θα εντυπωσιάσουν με τις εξαιρετικές φωνητικές δεξιότητες του Ras Daniel. Η φωνή του είναι άκρως μελωδική, παρέχοντας ένα προγονικό μήνυμα. Οι στίχοι του θα σας ταξιδέψουν στις ρασταφιανές ρίζες και τον πολιτισμό του.

Reggae music from Jamaica was the first genre to give focus to the bass and low frequencies. From studios and backyards, Reggae sound has become a reality in Athens city. Athens based Irie Action Soundsystem was the first Greek Reggae Sound system. It started back in 2005 under the name URM with Oldjohn as its founder. The sound was created out of shere love for the Reggae music, drawing influences from the jamaican culture of sound systems.

Irie Action is a unique indiependent sound system which purpose and goal is to travel from city to city spreading the message and energy of Reggae music. Its mission is to cause positive feelings in action wherever it goes.

On Friday the 21st of December, Irie Action, continuing the tradition of the heavyweight dances they offer Athens massive, they invite Bredda Neil, founder of mighty King Shiloh Soundsystem from Holland. Bredda Neil’s selections will be boosted by Ras Daniel Ray’s chanting on the mic, making that night in Romantso hard to forget.

King Shiloh Sound System is based in Amsterdam, Holland. It is an international indiependent sound system which was found back in 1991, drawing inspiration from the Rastafarian ways. King Shiloh is a six-way 40KW beast. Like most of sound systems, King Shiloh comes with a crew. Bredda Neil, is the operator of the sound & selector of the music, Ras Lion, is the original MC; master of ceremonies, Majestic B is the third original member.  Big Bless is the second MC, Lidj Shiloh the utility man.

King Shiloh are known as the traveling sound, they have covered more distance in the last 20 years with their sound system than any other in Europe. Ground-breakers outside of the UK and responsible for inspiring a whole new generation of sound systems across the continent. They were the first non UK sound to play on the island with their own sound system, becoming regulars at the famous University of Dub in London. Apart from playing in Europe with their sound Shiloh also travel further afield in a ‘dj style’ having played in Thailand, Jamaica, USA, Israel, Russia, Ukraine, Greece etc.

King Shiloh also founded a record label back in 1997 called King Shiloh Majestic Music. From that point on, they count 29 releases in CD and vinyl format, and have collaborated with some of the biggest names in the scene. Artists like Earl Sixteen, King Kong, Danny Red, Empress Black Omolo and many more.

When they tour, King Shiloh often bring along an additional MC to host their show. In Romantso  Jamaican Ras Daniel Ray will pick up the mic and give some extra power to the show.

Ras Daniel Ray started playing alongside Echo Tone and Night Rider Sound in Jamaica. Soon he gained some popularity by playing on Kilimanjaro Sound. He has shared the scene with a lot of top ranking artists like Shabba Ranks, Dennis Brown, John Holt, Gregory Issacs, Julian Marley, Sizzla, Garnett Silk, Charlie Chaplin, Brigadier Jerry and Sister Carol. In addition he has toured the world singing and MCing in big venues and festivals
